First off, i am sitting here looking at their myspace page, one really good place to look for new bands. On their page they have some information on themselves. One of the things that they have stated on there is that they "like Rock Music and like making people dance, we like to make people smile and sometimes cry." This shows that they truely enjoy doing what they do, and that usually show through with bands whether it's in their songs, or even just their attitude/stage presence.
As I sit here and type i am listening to their music, namely the songs on their myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/electriccityband. These guys are definetly the kinds of guys that you would want to see at a show. If you don't like metal so much, but you still like a rockin set of drums, and awesome guitar players, this is a band you'll wanna check out. Their vocals are very harmonious in parts, but not so overwhelmingly harmonic that it makes your ears feel like they are going to bleed. Ha Ha : ) I suppose i should give a bit of background information on them as well. Well, here goes:
- Band Members: Peter Smith, Andy Fuchs, Aaron Schuler & Tanner Dietz.
- Kind of Music: These guys classify themselves as Rock/Pop/Indie.
- Who/What They Sound Like: Hmmm....they have quite a unique sound, so it is very hard to compare them to someone else...If i had to compare them with anyone i would say the vocals almost have the same style of The Beatles, even the background music too. Like a more modern version of The Beatles. Like Modern Rock mixed with Classic Rock, and rock of the 90s. (probably a really bad way of explaining it. Hopefully someone out there understands what i'm trying to get at : D ) hehehe
- Their purpose, what they're about and what they're trying to do with their music: Spreading the Good News, make a difference with their songs. Make people feel real emotions whether it's happiness, sadness, peace, hope, joy, love, wholeness..
- Under the sections "sounds like" on myspace, these men put down: Poppy rock songs with synth, Screaming solos, rock operas, monster balads, lots of singing and clapping and dancing, and beauty that will make you smile.
- Maybe their description will help a little bit more than mine did. :D
